How to Transfer Stock
1. Electronic Transfer (via DTC – Depository Trust Company)
This is the easiest and fastest way to donate stock.
Step 1: Initiate the Transfer
Ask your broker or custodian bank to transfer your shares to Chabad of Santa Clara. They may request a letter of instruction. Provide the following details:

Please email or mail a copy of your letter of instruction with the following:

Note: Your gift will be dated when shares enter Chabad of Santa Clara’s account, and the value will be based on that date.
Year-End Gifts: Allow extra time to ensure transfers are completed by December 31. If the 31st falls on a weekend, plan to complete the transfer by the preceding Friday.

2. Physical Delivery (Stock Certificates)
Step 1: Complete a stock power form for each stock you wish to donate.
Step 2: Write a brief cover letter including:

Number and type of shares

Company(ies)

Purpose of the gift
Step 3: Mail your stock certificates (without endorsement or assignment) with your cover letter to:

Step 4: In a separate envelope, mail the completed stock power forms to the same address.
Note: The gift date is the later of the two postmarks. For year-end gifts, ensure envelopes are postmarked by December 31. If the 31st is on a weekend, mail by the preceding Friday. Only USPS mail allows the postmark to determine the gift date; courier services require the gift to be received by December 31.
