Taking the four kinds: One of the Sukkot observances is the taking of the Four Kinds: an etrog (citron), a lulav (palm frond), three hadassim (myrtle twigs) and two aravot (willow twigs). Before the holiday, the hadassim and aravot are bound to the lulav.
